What Are the Most Popular Baby Names in 2007

Having a baby can make parents very nervous. There are a lot of things parents have to consider before their child is born. They have to consider the costs associated with having a baby, their work arrangements, their choice of doctors, and of course choosing the baby's name. For many parents that last choice can require almost as much research as the other categories. That is why there are books dedicated solely to possible names for babies. Many parents are concerned about choosing a name that is unique enough that their child does not have a name that is the same as their classmates. For parents which have that concern they should definitely avoid the names Aiden, Braden, or Kaden as these are the three most popular choices in boys names this year. This was according to a recent press release from Babynames.com.While the top three names for boys this year are the rhyming trio of Aiden, Braden, and Kaden, a fourth rhyming name in Jaden has fell out of the top 5 from last year. Jaden was number four last year, but this year it is the 7th most popular name among male baby names. Hayden, yet another name that rhymes with the top three has fallen out of the top 20 most popular name choices for baby boys this year."People now perceive Hayden as more of a girls' name - most likely dueto the popularity of actress Hayden Panettiere from the TV show Heroes," commented Jennifer Moss, who is BabyNames.com founder & CEO.

The three most popular names for baby girls in 2007 are Ava, Abigail, and Cailyn. It is notable that the name "Madison" is not in the top 20 names for baby girls this year. This is the first time in the past six years that Madison did not make the top 20 names for baby girls for the year according to the press release. The Babynames.com website is run by four sisters and their mother. The website has been in existance since 1996 according to the press release. According to the information on the press release the website includes 10,000 potential baby name choices, along with their meanings to help parents in making their decision about what to name their new bundle of joy. The press release indicates that 3,500 new parents visit babynames.com each year to use their consulting service for chosing a name for their child.
